"How top professionals utilize artificial intelligence
to accelerate sales velocity”

"On average, sales professionals using artificial intelligence can save 2 hours and 15 minutes per day."

That's why so many sales teams are incorporating AI into their workflows and saving time. I spoke with some top sales experts to understand their views on the biggest opportunities AI presents in sales. Here are some of their thoughts on the opportunities AI brings to sales.

  1. Crafting personalized prospect information: Thanks to AI, generic emails and LinkedIn messages are a thing of the past. Now, salespeople can leverage AI tools to write perfectly tailored and highly relevant prospect messages. In fact, 31% of sales professionals are already using AI for this purpose. Jake, the Sales Director at Rocdesk, sees AI as a research assistant helping him gather crucial information before reaching out to prospects. He told me, "Before sending an email to a prospect, I use Rocdesk to find company news and information about the technologies they use."

  2.  Identifying suitable prospects: For Tyre, AI is a highly valuable tool for targeting the most promising prospects. He said, "To find the right prospects, I use Rocdesk for prospect identification based on industry, geographical location, and scale." Prior to the advent of AI, prospect scoring was often a manual process requiring some basic data calculations. Now, AI opens up possibilities for more advanced and accurate prospect scoring as it can handle thousands of data points, uncovering patterns and opportunities that human eyes might overlook. For sales reps, this means more time to focus on the most promising prospects, leading to more deals closed.

  3. Bridging the gap between marketing and sales: Ryan Gunn, the Marketing Operations Director, told me, "The misalignment between marketing and sales is a huge issue, and AI's data analysis and categorization capabilities can benefit from it." He continued, "Imagine you're working on a deal and need some content to push the prospect forward. AI can look at your deal history and recommend relevant content that your marketing team has already created." When marketing and sales teams are aligned, they can fully leverage AI to target promising prospects and effectively guide them through the sales funnel.

  4. Automating tedious tasks: If you're in sales, you know that non-selling activities can consume a significant amount of time. You might find yourself caught up in data entry in CRM, scheduling (and rescheduling) meetings, or writing sales collateral. While these tasks are important, they often take salespeople away from what they excel at—selling. That's where AI comes in. Surprisingly, 79% of salespeople using AI reported having more time for sales. These tools can assist with tasks such as: Data entry: Helping you add contacts, create reports, and retrieve information. Email automation: Assisting you in writing personalized emails, crafting subject lines, and sending emails at optimal times. Calendar management: Helping you schedule meetings, send reminders, and sync calendars with other team members. Sales forecasting: Assisting you in analyzing historical performance, customer behavior, market trends, and external factors to make accurate predictions. By harnessing the power of AI, sales professionals can streamline their workflows and automate time-consuming tasks. This means more time to focus on what truly matters—building meaningful relationships with clients and delivering outstanding experiences."
